Hey there!

I’m Kai, Australia-based content creator with a passion for international travel.

Growing up, the idea of travel didn’t appeal to me. I was led to believe that it was expensive, a waste of money as it could be better used, like putting it towards a house.

But, that all changed in May of 2023 where I had some free time before starting a new job.

Mentally, I wasn’t feeling great due to monotonous 9-5 lifestyle. I yearned for change and novelty, so I thought, what better way to achieve this than to travel.

Despite my fear, I booked a flight ticket to Cape Town, South Africa two days before departure, without much of a plan.

Off I went on my first international solo trip.

Little did I know, this was a turning point in my life.

I had the most incredible time, made friends, created memories, and for the first time, I felt alive.

More importantly, my perspective on life changed. In my solitude and introspection, I realised that life is fragile and short to follow the path that was chosen by society.

Go to school.

Get a degree.

Find a job.

Climb the ladder.

Have vacation 2 weeks a year.

Pay off your mortgage.

Go retire at 65 years old with just enough money to survive until death.

I knew this can’t be my future and there is more to life than this.

I wanted to work for myself and have more time, financial and location freedom.

While I’m not there yet, I know that I’ll get there as long I don’t give up on my dream.

Through travel, I found purpose in storytelling and content creation, which led me to start this blog.
